Winter 2008

Welcome to the new season, as usual we are slow posting updated pricing but it requires some deep thought and a bit of time, neither of which come easily to us down here on the farm.
Fuel costs are clearly a major factor again this year, so we have been forced to increase prices to try and keep pace with this.
Day trips with both heli runs and rope tow time are planned again this season, these will be run by Southern Lakes Heliski and you will need to book through them for those, there will be a link here soon to access that information.

Below are prices for 1, 2 and 3 day trips, if you have a specific format for your trip in mind that doesn't conform to what you see here, do get in touch and we will work out a plan for you.
We have a huge area of ungroomed snow on a convex slope accessible from the rope tow – 700m long, giving 300m vertical lift, from roughly 1500m a.s.l. to 1800m a.s.l.  Snow conditions tend to be dry powder early in the season with good Spring snow later on.  Slopes are wide open and sunny all day, but the terrain also offers plenty of gullies and chutes for more adventurous souls in search of a natural terrain park – it’s very varied and it’s completely up to you what line you take down the mountain.

Rider
Please note that walking in to the field is NOT AN OPTION.  It's a long way, traverses several avalanche paths and doesn't really take into account how our staff and equipment are going to get up there!  Logistically and safety-wise it is just too scary for us.

Please also remember that everything you bring in you must take out with you (like bottles, cans etc).  All rubbish must be flown out of the alpine area, so please try to minimise potential waste when you're packing stuff to bring.

These prices are based on a certain number of heli-loads.  If you bring so much gear that we need an extra trip, we will bill you for it! For an overnight trip, a pack to hold your sleeping bag, a change of clothes and some food should about cover it.
Bookings are secured by making a 10% deposit.

"No-shows" really waste our time and money and make us grumpy, so here is our policy regarding cancellations: make sure your team is rock solid before booking!

Any cancellations must be in writing.  A 10% cancellation fee will be levied up to 3 weeks (21 days) before your booked trip commences,  a 20% fee up to 6 days prior and thereafter a 100% fee will be levied.

In the event that Invincible Snowfields cancels your trip, due to weather or other issues, a 100% refund will be issued.

We won't make you pay or go up the hill if the snow conditions are not satisfactory.
We supply Ortovox avalanche transceivers, but we don't supply helmets so please bring your own or go and see our friends at Alta in Queenstown and they will hire you one for peanuts.  If you have your own avalanche transceiver too, feel free to bring it along.

Gourmet Lunch available  Are you keen for a spectacular all round day in the backcountry enjoying abundant natural snow in true wilderness?  This is the option for those of you wanting to be home for supper and a lie down (or a night out clubbing) after a day of adventure.

For rope tow only days (no heli runs)  the cost will be $550 per person.  This trip is an Invincible-only option and is separate to the heliski combo day .  It will work best if you can get your own group together but we can try to put groups together during the peak of the season for those with no friends (we're sure you're all lovely people).
