Where are We?
First up you need to know that we are in the South Island of New Zealand. Our closest major town is Queenstown. Below is a more detailed map of the Southern Lakes region of the South Island. Glenorchy is the relevant small town to look for!

OK, now we've zoomed in to Glenorchy, at the head of Lake Wakatipu. The red line indicates a sealed (paved) road, and the white is a gravel (metal) road. It's 50km from Queenstown to Glenorchy, and another 15kms to the heli-pad from Glenorchy (6 kms sealed, 9 kms gravel). There are no mountain roads and you won't need chains.
We recommend allowing one and a quarter hours to drive to the heli-pad from Queenstown, or twenty minutes from Glenorchy. Bear in mind the roads can be icy in the depths of winter, so allow yourself lots of time and consider staying in Glenorchy - see our links page for accommodation ideas.
If you really want to get in depth, the topographic map will help you out.
Many thanks to Polymedia for supplying the digital topo map.
